How the generated QR Code  will be used (short guide)

  1. Website / URL: encode a landing page, product page, or support page. Scanners open the URL in the device browser.
  2. vCard (Contact): smartphones will parse vCard and offer to add contact directly — great for business cards.
  3. Email / SMS: pre-fill mailto: and SMSTO: formats to let users quickly compose messages.
  4. App download: include both Play Store and App Store links; scanning opens the appropriate store (manual selection by user).
  5. Product / Promo / Feedback: point to product pages, coupon pages, or feedback forms — ideal for packaging, posters, receipts.
  6. Event (iCal): encoded iCal event allows quick adding to calendars on many devices.
  7. Payment: encode a payment link (do not put raw card data in QR). Use short-lived provider links for safety.
  8. Plain text / Reminders / Organization: short notes, reminders, or organization info for staff or printed materials.

Security & best practices

  • Do not place sensitive personal info (passwords, full IDs, payment card numbers) directly inside QR codes.
  • For payments, always use provider tokenized links (Paystack, Stripe Checkout, PayPal) and short-lived tokens where possible.
  • For printing, generate large (384/512) pixels PNG and also export PDF for better print quality.
  • Test QR types (vCard, iCal) across target devices (iOS, Android) to ensure compatibility.
